Hey there, hockey family! With a very successful tournament at the 2023 August bank holiday weekend? Your favourite tournament hosts are going to be back in 2024! We’re already getting lots of interest for this years event, It seems that we haven’t lost our touch the teams that took part in 2023 really did enjoy themselves, which we are super happy about. We’ll be back and ready to rumble in honour of our 12th year hosting this shindig.
Same as 2023, We’re running the festival at the same time as S&BeerFest to create one heck of a weekend of hockey, music and entertainment (drinking).
That’s right, we’re merging our passions again – hockey, beer and music – to create one epic weekend, they don’t say Hockey has a Beer problem for no reason right lol… We’re talking non-stop fun, laughter, and, of course, a little, cough cough, friendly fun festival competition on the pitch.
So, buckle up, get your kit on and get ready for a weekend you won’t forget. Don’t forget to practice your skills because you’re in for a wild ride. We’re ready to make some more great memories and have a fantastic tournament… Are you ready?
HOCKEY, CAMPING, LIVE MUSIC & BEER
Ladies and gents, hold onto your hats because This year’s tournament is going to be a fantastic again – celebrating our second year of doing a seven-a-side hockey festival extravaganza! That’s right, it’s going to be another year of top-notch hockey which is giving you more of what you love – hockey, competition and good old-fashioned fun.
Now, we know what you’re thinking – “why mess with a good thing?” So we haven’t, we’re all about pushing boundaries and trying new things but also not about reinventing the wheel. Just like last year, this means we can fit more teams into the mix, which means even more opportunities to show off your silky skills on and off the pitch.
But wait… there’s more excitement coming your way this year! For the first time ever, we’re thrilled to announce that we’ll be offering camping at the hockey festival grounds. Yes, you heard it right! You can now extend the fun beyond the field and immerse yourself in the full festival experience under the starlit sky.
So, get your kit ready and start practicing those fancy moves, we mean skills… It’s going to be a weekend of non-stop action, laughter, camaraderie, and now, camping adventures. We can’t wait to see you there!

The Hockey Festival is organised by Southport Hockey Club and is a memorial event for Norman Todd who was a stalwart of the club for many years.

The Beer Festival is organised by Southport & Birkdale Sports Club and it will be the 4th year this has been held and it is the highlight of the area and the club.
What’s on offer…
- 15 Beers, Ales and Ciders
- Live Music as well as DJ’s throughout the evening(s)
- 3 Separate Bars offering various beverages
- Food Stalls with various options

Hockey Tournament will be played on a sand dressed Astroturf Pitch at Greenbank High School which is only a 10min walk from the Beer Festival venue at Southport & Birkdale Sports Club.
